Muktinath Temple, located in the Mustang district of Nepal, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Himalayas and is known as the “Lord of Liberation.” This holy place holds deep spiritual significiance for both Hindus and Buddhists, making it a rare symbol of religious harmony and coexistence. For Hindus, it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Mukti Narayana and represents the path to moksha, while for Buddhists it is known as Chumig Gyatsa and is associated with compassion and meditation traditions. The temple is surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and features sacred elements such as the 108 water spouts and the eternal flame, which symbolize purification and balance with nature. Historically, Muktinath lay along important trans-Himalayan trade and pilgrimage routes, connecting cultures and beliefs.
