Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

The Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is one of Nepal’s most remote and challenging treks, taking you through pristine landscapes and deep into the heart of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area. The trek offers a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and natural beauty, passing through forests, alpine meadows, and high-altitude terrain. Along the way, trekkers will witness the stunning vistas of the Kanchenjunga massif and its surrounding peaks, while exploring remote villages with rich cultural heritage. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
– Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.
– Transfer to hotel.
– Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing
– Full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, visiting key attractions such as Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath.
– Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and Drive to Ilam
– Fly to Bhadrapur (50-minute flight).
– Drive from Bhadrapur to Ilam (3-4 hours).
– Overnight in Ilam.
Day 4: Drive from Ilam to Suketar
– Drive to Suketar, the starting point of the trek (4-5 hours).
– Overnight in Suketar.
Day 5: Trek from Suketar to Lali Kharka (2,220m)
– Begin the trek through villages, forests, and terraced fields.
– Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
– Overnight in Lali Kharka.
Day 6: Trek from Lali Kharka to Khesewa (2,100m)
– Continue the trek through forests and cross streams.

Day 7: Trek from Khesewa to Mamankhe (2,090m)
– Trek through beautiful landscapes, passing small villages.

– Ascend through dense forests and pass several villages.

– Continue the steep ascent to Kanchenjunga Base Camp.

Day 12: Exploration Day at Kanchenjunga Base Camp
– Explore the base camp and enjoy breathtaking views of Kanchenjunga and surrounding peaks.

Day 13: Trek from Kanchenjunga Base Camp to Ghunsa (3,595m)
– Descend back through beautiful landscapes.
– Trekking time: 6-7 hours.
– Overnight in Ghunsa.
Day 14: Trek from Ghunsa to Kambachen (4,100m)
– Continue the descent while passing through forests and villages.
– Trekking time: 5-6 hours.
– Overnight in Kambachen.
Day 15: Trek from Kambachen to Lhonak (4,780m)
– Trek to Lhonak, passing through rocky terrains and high-altitude landscapes.
– Trekking time: 5-6 hours.
– Overnight in Lhonak.
Day 16: Trek from Lhonak to Ghunsa (3,595m)
– Retrace the route back through scenic landscapes.
– Trekking time: 6-7 hours.
– Overnight in Ghunsa.
Day 17: Trek from Ghunsa to Yamphudin (2,080m)
– Descend through forests and villages.
– Trekking time: 6-7 hours.

Day 18: Trek from Yamphudin to Khesewa (2,100m)
– Continue descending through beautiful natural surroundings.

– Overnight in Khesewa.
Day 19: Trek from Khesewa to Suketar
– Complete the final leg of the trek back to Suketar.
– Trekking time: 5-6 hours.
– Overnight in Suketar.
Day 20: Drive from Suketar to Bhadrapur and Fly to Kathmandu
– Drive from Suketar to Bhadrapur (4-5 hours).
– Fly back to Kathmandu.
– Transfer to hotel and relax.
– Overnight in Kathmandu.
