Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a popular and relatively easy trek in the Annapurna region, ideal for beginners and those with limited time. This short trek takes you through picturesque villages, lush forests, and terraced fields, offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. The highlight of the trek is the early morning sunrise view from **Poon Hill** (3,210m), where you can witness panoramic vistas of the surrounding peaks. The trek also provides a glimpse into the culture of the Gurung and Magar communities, making it a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural exploration. It is a great option for those looking for a memorable trekking experience without high-altitude challenges.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
– Scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (6-7 hours).
– Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 2: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m)
– Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1.5 hours) and then trek to Tikhedhunga.
– Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
– Overnight in Tikhedhunga.
Day 3: Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m)
– Trek through beautiful rhododendron forests, passing through the villages of Ulleri and Nangethanti.
– Trekking time: 6-7 hours.
– Overnight in Ghorepani.
Day 4: Early Morning Sunrise at Poon Hill (3,210m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,630m)
– Early morning hike to Poon Hill to catch the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
– After the sunrise, trek down to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue to Tadapani.
– Trekking time: 6-7 hours.
– Overnight in Tadapani.
Day 5: Trek to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara
– Trek down to Nayapul and drive back to Pokhara.
– Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
– Overnight in Pokhara or return to Kathmandu.

  • Accommodation in tea houses/lodges during the trek.
